Ouchie Bum

So Arianna has been on super-dooper antibiotics since we came home from the hospital, and now she has what seems to be C-diff. It is a common side effect of Clyndamiacyn(?), which she gets three times a day, plus Omnicef twice a day. So I collected a sample yesterday and took it to the hospital, we are still waiting for results. With all the pooping her butt is red, welted and bleeding. I have been putting on cortisone cream and thick butt paste but each time she poops she screams, which this kiddo rarely cries about anything. I hope we can get this under control fast, but that means more meds I'm sure, good thing today is the last day for the antibiotics.

Now for less gross stuff. Our tree at the Festival was purchased, I was so happy. I will post a pic of it as soon as Matt gives me back my computer, he has needed it for work this week so I post this from my in-laws house. We also spent yesterday at Jaxson's b-day party, and at a banquet for my father-in-law. He is a drag racer and he won the championship for top dragster, a big honour for him, he had to wear a tux, he looked so nice. My sister took on the challenge of watching the girls for the night, she did a great job, Arianna decided to knock over her plant, made a mess. It's nice to know my sis can handle the girls and is willing to help me out, maybe Matt and I will get a few more date nights now.

Feeling Better

So after spending the day decorating our tree I feel a lot better, I know that what we did will help many others. I will not be a Grinch like those that stole someone else's Christmas.

Arianna is feeling better too. She like being at home and can roll anywhere she wants. I however have got the same cold, I feel all stuffy, like my head will exploded. When Matt gets home I will try for bed.
We will be visiting the festival on Friday evening if anyone wants to meet up with us.

Good-night all

Scrooged

I have to yell right now, this has been bugging me all weekend and I can't get it out of my system. On Friday my sister-in-law and her two sisters hit the stores for all the great deals, and just the fun of shopping. After getting just about everything on their list and hitting their last store, Sam's, their Christmas came to a devastating halt. Some big horrible Scrooge broke into their truck and stole everything, roughly $1000.00 of gifts, and causing $1000.00 of damage to the truck. The thing that makes me so mad is that not only did they steal Christmas, they really hurt some special people. My SIL is school teacher, her sis is a social worker who is back in school and not working, her husband is a firefighter and works three jobs to support them. And her other sis is a nurse with a new baby. All of them do so much for the communities they serve and work in. Some small sunshine, they were able to replace some of the gifts, Walmart let them re-purchase their gifts at the door buster prices, but that hardly makes up for all that was lost. How do you replace something when you have already spent the money you saved just for this purpose.
I really hope that the Scrooge's get the Karma they deserve.
I know that this is a rough year for everyone, as far as money goes. But remember please, this is a season of love and Christ, and what he gave to us all, and that it's not all about the gifts you get but what you give of yourself to others.
I will try to let this go now, it is really just making me sick to my stomach every time I think of it. I will try to pass my love on to others.

A better and happier note, my mom and I have been working very hard on a tree for The Festival of the Trees, all monies go to Primary Children's Medical Center. Our tree is dedicated to my moms sister, who passed away in May, and Arianna. They have both been huge inspiration in our lives and so we honor them. If you happen to get a chance to go to the festival, look for ours in the small trees, 4 1/2 feet, it will be the one tilted Christmas on the Ark. Hand made animals that my mom did. Also look for the tree donated by SOFT, big tree gold and silver, there will also be a picture of Arianna there. It opens Wed Dec. 3rd and goes thru Sat, South Town Expo.

Love and Peace to All,
Julianna

Going Home

So we get to break free of here, good thing cause Arianna does not want to be in her crib. All her test came back negative and the docs are comfortable sending her home with Matt and I to take care of her, we do a great job they say. We just have to continue with antibiotics for a few more days, nothing I haven't already done.
So thanks for the prayers and good vibes, they really do help.

Love to you all
Julianna

In The Hospital

I don't really get it, but Arianna has done this two years in a row. The day after thanksgiving she gets a fever and has respitory problems and we end up in the ER. So here's what happened today. She woke up with a cough and some extra junk in her lungs, and a fever of 100.0. I make an appt to see her doc and about two hours before it I notice her her finger nails are purple, not good. I upped her oxygen to 1 ltr and suctioned her out, and there was no change. I called her doc and said I guess we'll cancel cause we're heading up to PCMC.
We spent 5 hours in the ED and the best they can guess is that we have some virus. They drew blood for cultures and did a VRP, but that stuff takes at least 48 hours to come back. While in the ED her fever spikes to 103., and we just can't kick it. We are now in a room, surrounded by kids that can tell the nurses what they need, and they are needy. It took us an hour to get more Tylenol and some food, she hadn't eaten since 1:00, she was hungry. She is now being cuddled by her daddy and sleeping. I hope that we can figure this out and go home fast. Please pray for her , she needs it.
I am a bit scared, in the last month two of our T13 friends have been called home to their Heavenly Father, I just don't want it to be her time yet, I'm having too much fun watching her grow and being her mommy. I will keep my spirits up while I am around her, and just love her to wellness and back home.
Kenna is enjoying tonight, she gets to have a sleep over at my brothers house with his kids!!!
Keep us all in your prayers and I will keep you all updated.

under construction

So I decided to change our layout. I was tryng to post new pics too, but the server was having problems, so I will try again later. I also updated my blog list, some new friends and old ones too, check them out. There are some cute pics of Arianna and her BFF on Jaxson's blog. I tried to post them here but...

Update-
We are still house hunting and hoping someone will buy our house, no point in getting my heart set on a new house until this one sells. I have this feeling that someone will put in an offer once we get all our Christmas stuff up, then we'll have to pack up and move. I really won't mind. We have been healthy for the most part, Kenna did wake up with a cough and sore throat. I am hopeful it passes quickly and Arianna does not get it. We are waiting for the docs to get everything together so that we can only sedate Ari once, ENT will do Botox and ABR hearing test. Eyes to fix her tear ducts, they are too small on one side and not there on the other. And Cardio is going to do and ECHO. I hope they get it together soon, I don't want to spend the holidays at the hospital.

We are still fighting to get the insurance to pay for her VEST, they do not believe it will benefit her, she doesn't have Cystic Fibrosis and that is all they will cover for. We have been using it for a month now and she has shown much improvement in her lungs, her chest X-rays are clearing and she moves the junk out much better now when she coughs. Pray that the corporate bigshots pull their collective heads out.

So that is it in a nut shell. Have a Happy Turkey Day!!!!

Girls Night

I finally got a night out. My sis and I went to see Mama Mia, I loved the Broadway version, so it was only fitting that I see the movie. Yes I know that it has been out for months, but it has taken me this long to get time off. I loved singing along with the movie, my parents were big fans of ABBA when I was growing up, so yes I know ALL the songs. We also went for Thai food. They had the best Mango and Sticky rice I have ever tasted. It was made with purple rice, I have never had it with purple rice before, this was the only place I have been that makes it that way.
I feel so much better and maybe I can be a better mom to the girls. I have been a bit of a grump lately. Monthly girls night is a must.
