In The Hospital

I don't really get it, but Arianna has done this two years in a row. The day after thanksgiving she gets a fever and has respitory problems and we end up in the ER. So here's what happened today. She woke up with a cough and some extra junk in her lungs, and a fever of 100.0. I make an appt to see her doc and about two hours before it I notice her her finger nails are purple, not good. I upped her oxygen to 1 ltr and suctioned her out, and there was no change. I called her doc and said I guess we'll cancel cause we're heading up to PCMC.
We spent 5 hours in the ED and the best they can guess is that we have some virus. They drew blood for cultures and did a VRP, but that stuff takes at least 48 hours to come back. While in the ED her fever spikes to 103., and we just can't kick it. We are now in a room, surrounded by kids that can tell the nurses what they need, and they are needy. It took us an hour to get more Tylenol and some food, she hadn't eaten since 1:00, she was hungry. She is now being cuddled by her daddy and sleeping. I hope that we can figure this out and go home fast. Please pray for her , she needs it.
I am a bit scared, in the last month two of our T13 friends have been called home to their Heavenly Father, I just don't want it to be her time yet, I'm having too much fun watching her grow and being her mommy. I will keep my spirits up while I am around her, and just love her to wellness and back home.
Kenna is enjoying tonight, she gets to have a sleep over at my brothers house with his kids!!!
Keep us all in your prayers and I will keep you all updated.

under construction

So I decided to change our layout. I was tryng to post new pics too, but the server was having problems, so I will try again later. I also updated my blog list, some new friends and old ones too, check them out. There are some cute pics of Arianna and her BFF on Jaxson's blog. I tried to post them here but...

Update-
We are still house hunting and hoping someone will buy our house, no point in getting my heart set on a new house until this one sells. I have this feeling that someone will put in an offer once we get all our Christmas stuff up, then we'll have to pack up and move. I really won't mind. We have been healthy for the most part, Kenna did wake up with a cough and sore throat. I am hopeful it passes quickly and Arianna does not get it. We are waiting for the docs to get everything together so that we can only sedate Ari once, ENT will do Botox and ABR hearing test. Eyes to fix her tear ducts, they are too small on one side and not there on the other. And Cardio is going to do and ECHO. I hope they get it together soon, I don't want to spend the holidays at the hospital.

We are still fighting to get the insurance to pay for her VEST, they do not believe it will benefit her, she doesn't have Cystic Fibrosis and that is all they will cover for. We have been using it for a month now and she has shown much improvement in her lungs, her chest X-rays are clearing and she moves the junk out much better now when she coughs. Pray that the corporate bigshots pull their collective heads out.

So that is it in a nut shell. Have a Happy Turkey Day!!!!

Girls Night

I finally got a night out. My sis and I went to see Mama Mia, I loved the Broadway version, so it was only fitting that I see the movie. Yes I know that it has been out for months, but it has taken me this long to get time off. I loved singing along with the movie, my parents were big fans of ABBA when I was growing up, so yes I know ALL the songs. We also went for Thai food. They had the best Mango and Sticky rice I have ever tasted. It was made with purple rice, I have never had it with purple rice before, this was the only place I have been that makes it that way.
I feel so much better and maybe I can be a better mom to the girls. I have been a bit of a grump lately. Monthly girls night is a must.

Blowing Off Steam

Re: The Oprah show. If you don't want to hear me complain, please don't read this.

Although I intended to watch, I guess I missed on purpose. The more I tought about it, and yes it is a good story to share, I felt a bit slighted. We, the families, that spend countless hours caring for our child should have been featured as well. I don't want to bring any offense to those that have lost their child, but I hope you can all see where I am coming from. All of our children are miracles, and that miracle is that they have survived long past the expectations of the medical community. I feel the ture miracle is that we, as parents, live each day as a becon of strength and love for the world to see, that we don't give up on ourselves, or the children we love and care for. That we strive to keep normalcy in our life, bring joy to those we meet. And continue to have families that are strong and full of love, however that family is put together.

I felt even more slighted when watching my local news last night, they showed a clip of the Herrin twins on the show, which I have met and spent lots of time with Erin, their mom, at the hospital. I know their story is remarkable, but so are we. I just wish we had more recognition. I am trying very hard at this moment to find the humility that should be here in my heart, that what I have been given is a gift from God, that it is not my glory but His. I suppose I just needed to let this all out. Thanks for letting me rant.
This pic of Arianna is kinda how I feel. Give the world a BIG Karate Hi-Ya!!

Sunday mornings, My Fav

So here I sit in the newly reclaimed office, it was full of junk until two weeks ago. I can smell the yummy hashbrowns that Matt is cooking, made from potatoes from our garden, and loving that I have a great cook in the house. He makes breakfast on Sunday, Kenna loves to help him in the kitchen and mommy can't come in until they are done.
I and very happy today, my little family fills me with so much joy. Matt, what a hard working and loving Daddy. Kenna, a five year old, she wants to know and do everything for herself. She has just started to get ready for bed by herself without me asking. She will come and blow in my face and say my teeth are brushed and I am ready for bed, she then grabs a book for her Daddy to read. Arianna is such a little mover, just this morning I left her on the floor of her room and came downstairs, about 5 mins later I hear Kenna and Matt rescuing her from almost rolling down the stairs. I can't believe how much she has grown, now weighing in at 29 lbs. I get tired just thinking about hauling her around the house. I really need to get her on video rolling and crawling and post it.
The house hunt is moving along, we have seen alot and really like 3 of them, we just need our house to sell so we can put in an offer. Pray it happens quickly.
I am off to eat Matt's yummy breakfast!!

P.S. watch Oprah on tues Oct 28th, story on miracle babies, one with Trisomy 18.

Here's The Scoop

So let me tell you all why I have been too busy to blog. We are getting ready to sale our house, it takes a lot of work to get 12 years of stuff collecting looking good. We painted our bedroom and put in new carpet, the last room in the house to get an update. Matt and I have been so crazy cleaning and such, not to mention all the stuff I do with the girls.
We are hoping to find a good house, a rambler is preferred, Arianna is getting too big for me to haul all around and up and down the stairs. Plus we have just outgrown our house, we only planned on being there for 10 years and it has almost been 12. We will stay in the same general area, close to family and doctors.
Matt has also been busy with the 6 point bull Elk he nabbed on the hunt, my freezer is full.

So that is the gist of it, I will keep you all updated on the house hunt.
