Whew, she is doing well

First some cute pics of my girls!!!!

Arianna is a true fighter. She came through surgery just great, and is still sleeping. We just started her feeds and she is sucking on her lips, I would say she was hungry.

So the doc told me that this cyst was really a ball of infection, myopic(?) bacteria I believe he said. And yes surgery is the best way to get rid of it, the antibiotics used to kill it a nasty and have to be used for four months. To just remove the ball of junk is safe and very effective, the infection is contained inside the ball, no risk to the rest of her. As to how she got the this infection, we just don't have a clue. We are now just waiting till the drain that she has to be less that 15cc in a 24 hour period. She should be home in three days.

Here's a pic of her ear.

Here's the scoop

The nasty thing on Arnas ear is a 'first bracachial cyst', and it has to be removed. She is going in on thursday the 9th, and is expected to stay atleast three days. the surgery is alot like a face lift in where the incision is made, and the have to watch out for her facial nerve. they will also do botox again while she is under. The nasty bugger ruptured on friday, and oozed out like crazy, I had to keep gauze on it until today, it finally stopped.

On the fun side, we took the girls to the Western Stampede Rodeo on friday night, Kenna was all dressed up like a cowgirl. Arianna love the lights and cheering and the loud music.

keep Arianna in your prayers this week, we never know what she'll do under anesthesia.
Thanks!

This may gross you out

Arianna has a very weird growth below her earlobe. At first we thought it to be an infected lymphnode, but antibiotics has not changed it, infact it has gotten worse. I took her to see her doc today and she freaked out and said she was going to make some calls to get her into to see ENT asap. I do have an appt for tomorrow, but she is hoping she can get us in today.
This lump has not seemed to trouble Arianna much, but it is hard to tell what hurts when she can't tell us. She has had no fever, that's a good sign, I hope they can take care of it without to much pain to her, we'll just wait and see.

Happy Birthday to WE!!!!!

Yes it is a beautiful day. The sun is out from behind all the clouds and it should be warm today. I couldn't ask for more on this special day. Arianna is aready awake and playing in the living room, seems birthday girls don't need their beauty sleep!!
It is hard to believe that it has only been three years since our lives were blessed and changed, some days it feels like more, but I would not ask for anything different. I am glad for the strength and faith Arianna has brought to us.
One of these days I will write her story, Lacey has prompted me to do this, but I haven't found the time to just do it.
On a fun note, Kenna, Matt and I had a blast of a water fight last night, needless to say I got soaked. I don't know why but they ganged up on me. Arianna was on the deck just laughing at all the screams coming from Kenna, maybe next time she can join in. I love family nights like that one.
Now I must get a move on, busy busy day of fun ahead of me!!!

I wish I could say we have been out having tons of fun and that's why I haven't posted in so long, but the truth is I just haven't been up to it lately. We have been busy with lots too as well. Arianna got molds made for her new leg braces, she has out grown her Dafos and we can't put her in her stander without them. We were up at Shriner's to get those done, should be completed in two weeks.
We also had a wedding over the weekend, Matt's brother Nelson got married, didn't think I would ever see him do it, but Michon came into his life and really changed him, way to go girl. It was real fun, and the rain let up for the evening just for them. It was an outdoor event at my in-laws, my MIL loves to garden and has the most beautiful landscaping. About that rain, it seems it has rained everyday for the past two weeks, I feel like I moved to Anchorage Alaska, it may be all lush and green but too wet for me. It is nice we haven't had to turn on the sprinklers in a while. Kenna is ready for a break from the wet too, she really wants to play outside, and I have sent her out with the umbrella and rain boots but she just wants the sun!!! We also went to the airshow on the 7th of June, it was great even if it did down pour for about 10 mins, delayed the show while the Thunderbirds were in the air, but the rain passed and they continued. I would post pics but this old computer my parents gave me doesn't have pic progms and so I will just wait for the lap top.
This Friday is a special day. June 19th is my birthday and Arianna's too. She will be three, I never thought we would see this day happen. She has grown so much and is almost getting to sit up on her own, she still gets excited and falls over when she gets up. I would plan a big party for that day but Kenna also has her spring tap concert that night, so we'll just get an ice-cream cake for after the show.
I will post some good b-day pics this weekend when Matt brings the laptop home.

So I promised I would post pics of Kenna at her Graduation, and here she is with her teacher Miss Lisa. I am so proud to be her mommy, she has grown so much in the past five years. I am excited for her to start kindergarten in the fall. Arianna will also start pre-school in the fall, I will be an empty nester!!!

Whats New?

Well today we went in for our FEES study. Arianna is cleared for recreational oral feeds with thick foods like pudding or yogurt. Her dysphaga(sp) has been improving. She has much better control of her airway and coughs away anything that goes into the wrong tube. I am so proud of her.
She is wearing her hearing aids all the time, doesn't even try to pull them out. I am working on getting her to wear her glasses along with them. We'll see what she does.

We have not yet sold our house, lots of showings, but no buyers.

We are keeping busy with trips to the park, and Kenna's last day of school is Friday, graduation is that evening, can't wait to see my big girl all dressed up in a cap and gown. I will post pics, promise.
